one of the few occasions you'll see me in a bunch of bright colors. no idea how i got here, but i just did.. i thought it was going to be one of those outfits that I regret wearing. Turns out after 2 weeks, i didnt regret it at all anyway.

GENESIS pt 2

Sooo what's in part 2 you're asking ? Well, its just a collection of random photos I took on the day. I'm sorta channeling Tommy Ton from Jack & Jill here. I tried photographing things I liked from people at the event. But I didn't tell them to pose. I just shot without having them knowing. Being in a fashion-oriented event is a great way to brush up those candid photo skills (sounds easy, but trust me its not !). Here are my favorites I came back with !

GENESIS pt one : backstage

yesterday I spent my WHOLE day at Bapindo Plaza preparing Lasalle College's graduation show. I worked in the choreography team along with 5 other lovely pals. thank god I wore flats in the morning or I wont be able to walk at night. pretty much spent the whole day standing/walking. Those who think fashion shows are easy to manage ("the models just walk back and forth right?") it is NOTTTT. so many people are involved ! music, stage designers, lighting dude, makeup artist/hairstylist and all.. even dressers who just take on and off the models clothes play an important role ! I'll never forget this memory.. working backstage was epic and fun at the same time. there are times when you get frustrated, but when you see the final of the runway, smiles will emerge and those frustrating moments are well paid off. if you like fashion, and if you ever get the chance to work backstage, do try it! its tiring but fun :)

i cant ask for a better backstage team ! we worked our ass to the max.. shouting until our voices are gone, standing until our feet felt like falling apart, running to grab changing models, laughing until tears came out.. but in the end, we got through the 6themed fashion show smoothly ! here are some unforgettable moments captured..toting my dslr camera was totally worth the bulk and neck-pain...


id like to call this dude, "nanda the naked" .. he was wearing a 5inch platform shoes for the runway FYI..

8 Dancers and 3 Photographers

doing something slightly different for today's post :) some couple weeks ago, me and carissa's friends rented out a studio in west jakarta and we basically had a blast. dont laugh but i felt like a pro having all of these light boxes with the wireless thing attached on the camera. lol.. it was my first time working with lighting as well (and the 2 other photographers had NO SINGLE idea about lighting too), so we all basically did the trial and error thing.. i got lots of "blacked out" photos when all 3 photographers realeased the shutter at the same time. In the end, I decided to take the wireless flash transmitter on and off constantly. some "scenes" worked well with the natural light and some not really. nevertheless, we had fun blamming each other for the black images anyway ;)
Anyway, I do hope you enjoy these photos ! constructive criticism are highly welcomed !

Tweedle Dee

today im "partly" dedicating this post to my love of tweed. tweed is just one of those fabrics that was love at first sight to me (thanks to the genius, coco chanel). it was also one of the types of fabrics I learned before I studied fashion as a major. to me, the fabric is the perfect mix of classic, elegance, and utilitarian. I got this jacket a year ago and it's still one of my favorite jackets I own. as for the shoes, i spotted them on the racks and straightaway, I thought that this was the perfect match for the jacket :)

the color schemes in this outfit remind me of all the wonderful 4th of July outfits I've been spotting throughout many blogs.. i do hope you all have had an awesome weekend :) im having mixed feelings of my upcoming super busy week. due to the crazy schedule, blog updates might be delayed.. im jetting off to bed for another monday straightaway after I click "publish post" ..
