MAROON

I can't wait to be in full holiday mood next week. It's my last week at the office but I still have this and that to do literally even right before I leave for vacation (which I'll tell you more about on my next post or so!) I forgot about this outfit I wore during a time where I became a judge at the SMAK5 BPK Penabur Cup in October along with Marcella & Wynne. There were surely a lot of young talents out there ! I can't even draw a proper stick figure myself....

CHOP CHOP

Firstly I'd like to apologize for my absence for the past week. I've been working like a horse on several projects (one of them I'm sharing today!) and the last thing I wanted to do after meetings, shoots, or even just looks-simple-but-time-consuming writing is sleep. I think that sleep is crucial to a productive day. Whenever I get a good sleep, I am capable of waking up at 5 and actually get things done minus my usual procrastinating!

SEBASTIAN GUNAWAN : CLUB DAHLIA

Jakarta has been really kind to me when it comes to this week's traffic. I have magically travelled from the south to the north and to the west without my need of showing my daily-congestion-rage on twitter (.. or Path). On Tuesday especially, I managed to go to Sebastian Gunawan's Club Dahlia show venue in a mere of 40 minutes (usually 1 hour and 20 minutes).

I love watching things goings on backstage and going "oohhhs" and "ahhhs" over the beautiful garments. Usually when the show starts, I sit down and watch as the models strut, but not for Club Dahlia. I somehow enjoyed staying at the back while I capture the busy team running around changing the models clothes.

The collection, as stated by the designer himself, was inspired by a club in Florida known as Club Dahlia. He finds that although women may be sweet and all at first sight, they have strong character and a mysterious side. Many of my favorite trends from 2012 such as brocades, laces, peplums, and asymmetrical cuts became the key elements of from this collection. All 95 looks and six wedding gowns from his Sebastian Sposa line was adorned with a lace or fishnet headpiece, created by another Indonesian talent Rinaldy A Yunardi, that covered half of the model's face leaving that feminine yet mysterious impression.

PINK LINEN

I had this ridiculous nickname only my aunt knows back during my high school days, and that nickname has to do with my love for pink back then. Until this day, that nickname still horrifies me (nop! won't share it here..) to an extent that I rarely buy anything pink (dusty/peachy pinks are an exception). One of those rare pink purchases was this linen dress from Stitch n Co. Somehow the nipped waist and slight bubble cut bottom half makes me feel ladylike instead of well, Barbie.

OUTRAGEOUS NEON

As mentioned in my old post, I've always been the dark colored nail girl. It's either the no polish, neutral lot, or dark for me and nothing in between. Well that policy changed when I saw opi's blinding mini packs. Turns out they give out the right amount of perk to any summer outfit.

KEEP CALM AND ....

Ever since the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, I have been overly swamped with "keep calm and ....." images. One of those many 'keep calm' photos said 'keep calm and eat cake'. Well, I don't know if this applies to you but eating cake (..or eating any kind of good food really) does calms me down.
Last week was the 2nd annual Fimela Dress Up day. As you can probably tell, there were a hell lot of cakes but that's not the main point.. There were also LOTS of clothes, accessories, and shoes from Kate Spade, Hermès, Cotton Ink, MILCAH, Nikicio, Moscino, and.. the list goes on! There wasn't as much fashion bloggers as there was in the last Dress Up Day, but I was happy enough to have made new friends who also share the love of eating..

MOONLIGHT

As promised, the second part of the Didi Budiardjo photos. This time I slipped in some runway shots too. I didn't shoot much when Debussy's Claire de Lune started playing during the night as I simply wanted to sit back and enjoy the show.

LE CARRÉ

I have a couple of "life-stories" to share before I talk about my outfit for the Paris Mon Ami event from my previous post.. God knows how thankful I am at this point of my life. I feel that I am truly blessed by all the great opportunities and occasions that I've encountered for the past few months. I can't exactly share everything on this blog, but I'm simply grateful. I used to whimper on the things I didn't have but lately, I've learned to embrace and appreciate the things I already do. how? first off, stop comparing. If you keep juxtaposing your life with others, there will never be an end. Can you read and look at my blog posts now? Well, you're already blessed that you have a pair of functioning eyes. Even if you have a high myopic degree like me, at least you can still see. Start off by looking at the little details like the eye example. You will realize how many things that you can be thankful of..

EVENT// HERMÈS, PARIS MON AMI

When I found out that I was gonna be free on October 8, I immediately said 'YES' to Dien's offer for hosting Hermès' Paris Mon Ami event last weekend. Held at Pacific Place's South Lobby, the semi-outdoor function quickly filled up with guests decked out in colorful attires along with the brand's classic Carré. beholdddddd for the biggest photo post ever on this blog..

PARIS MON AMI

When I bring up the question ; "what clothing or accessory do you think is the most versatile item out there?", answers such as a white shirt, a pair of jeans, or a trench coat for the winter-clads usually start popping out. It IS true that those three classics can be reworn over and over. But, there is also one more thing that is just as (..or perhaps more) versatile : a scarf.

When it comes to scarves, Hermès' le carré is one those iconic ones. first made in 1937, the 90x90 cm scarf requires about 450,000 meters of fine silk and 1,500 - 2,000 hours of labor to finish. The Carré may seem grandma-ish to some. But, I'm sure that after seeing what these four girls have to offer, the scarf will no longer feel ancient to you. Remember J'aime Mon Carré from last year? Well, this year Hermès has launched another one of their interactive online fanzine campaign known as Paris Mon Ami. Set in the magical city of Paris, four 'IT' girls from different backgrounds gathered together to showcase a fresh take on the classic carré.

LAST WEEKEND // SPOT-a-VENDRE

last weekend I participated in the Spot-a-Vendre bazaar hosted by 10 fashion bloggers, the LOOKBOOK Jakarta community, and 7 local brands at the southern area of Jakarta. Good news for the day : I managed to drive there without getting lost with Marcella Caroline of Footloose and Fancytree. Mini Google map on my phone screen never fails to keep me on the right track even when my phone provider opted to blank out in the middle of the trip. and now, the bad news : I was busy packing (with the addition of procrastination..) the night before.. caught a hideous flu from all the dust within my dresser, andddddd forgot to charge the battery of my Canon. these were the only pictures I managed to shoot before the last bar emptied.

Parseltongue

If you're reading the preview text on my RSS feeds, there's NOTHING harry potter related here. in fact, I'm having a mini giveaway here :) I just felt like using parseltongue in place of the word 'snakeprints'. I've always thought that snake-printed things were tacky (I don't like the idea of touching snakes either.. It's just slithery and creepy for me). That is, until I saw this year's fall collections (Chloé to name one) and this Prada shoes I fell over. Turns out serpent-goods DO look good when worn correctly. I was cleaning up my closet looking for things to sell for the upcoming Spot-A-Vendre bloggers' bazaar this saturday and I found my old snake print clutch. I remember buying this at the same shop I bought my clutch form my previous post, but I still can't recall the name of the store. After 2 years of hiding, I opted this over my regular black clutch for the day.

ELLE Style Awards

I'm still filled with joy as I'm writing this post on a cloudy Saturday. Last night I went to the ELLE Style Awards the Citadines Quartier. As some of you might have known from my twitter, I received the title as "Blogger of the Year". Yes.. blogger of the year (sorry if I'm boasting too much).. That was the good news that I was talking about in my recent post. I was excited when I saw the email from Anggita in my JUNK folder (another reason why you should clean all email folders once in a while!).. The whole night was fun although I had to leave earlier due to some things. But overally, I had a great time, and I loved the clean white rooms at Citadines :) Plus they have a nice mini kitchen as well..

one of my wishlist shoes from Louis Vuitton.. I personally prefer the Giraffe ones

Kak Dita's makeup pouch and knick knacks

Pond's products

Anggita, and Yoland Handoko

before I close off this post, I'd like to thank every single one of you for making me what I am today ! I wouldn't have won this award if it weren't for you guys ! So big thankssss for being a follower of Glisters and Blisters !! God bless you all :)

Tod's : Art of Leather

On Friday, I went to the Tod's Art of Leather event at Plaza Indonesia. A craftsmen from Italy flew in and did a demonstration on the making of the iconic "D Bag". What "kicked" me into my head was how dirty my Tod's bag was. haha. Mine is rather dark beige (is there such color?) with a few black swooshes here and there, while the D-Bag that was freshly made on the spot was simply beige. *reminds me that I should probably take my bag to the cleaners* anyhow, I had a great time in the afternoon and I liked the little polaroid souvenirs they gave out.

i love that wrapped bracelet.. also from Tod's

im obsessed with yellow leather pieces nowadays.. this one is the so called "D-Bag"

two day sale

this is my 300th post by the way! i still remembered my 100th post I had a year back :) anyway, I joined the blogger's yard sale again last weekend. After 3 or 4 times of absence, I'm back on the selling bandwagon.. This time it was a two-day event..hence more tiring and more work, but still fun with lots of my blogger friends around ! I was too tired to take photos of my outfit, so that'll probably be posted in my future post (if i'm not too lazy to re-dress myself for photos). I'm writing this post at 2 in the morning, so I'll just skip to the pictures :)
