BAG PLAY

It's always exciting when a new creative director takes over a brand with such extensive history. Louis Vuitton for example. Just last November, it was announced that Nicholas Ghesquière was appointed as the new artistic director and boy I couldn't be any more in love with his collections. Marc Jacobs I loved your quirky charms, but Ghesquière was more 'me'. It was an honor to be able to continue working with Louis Vuitton over the past year. I really enjoyed the process of selecting the new clothes & bags I wanted to shoot with. Despite the fact that I had already grown some baby belly, with the help of correct sizing (it's not the end of the world if you have to wear Large ladies... you can even get compliments on looking skinnier!) and posing, we managed to pull everything off without me looking like a human kangaroo. Thank you for the terrific team !

SEBASTIAN GUNAWAN : CLUB DAHLIA

Jakarta has been really kind to me when it comes to this week's traffic. I have magically travelled from the south to the north and to the west without my need of showing my daily-congestion-rage on twitter (.. or Path). On Tuesday especially, I managed to go to Sebastian Gunawan's Club Dahlia show venue in a mere of 40 minutes (usually 1 hour and 20 minutes).

I love watching things goings on backstage and going "oohhhs" and "ahhhs" over the beautiful garments. Usually when the show starts, I sit down and watch as the models strut, but not for Club Dahlia. I somehow enjoyed staying at the back while I capture the busy team running around changing the models clothes.

The collection, as stated by the designer himself, was inspired by a club in Florida known as Club Dahlia. He finds that although women may be sweet and all at first sight, they have strong character and a mysterious side. Many of my favorite trends from 2012 such as brocades, laces, peplums, and asymmetrical cuts became the key elements of from this collection. All 95 looks and six wedding gowns from his Sebastian Sposa line was adorned with a lace or fishnet headpiece, created by another Indonesian talent Rinaldy A Yunardi, that covered half of the model's face leaving that feminine yet mysterious impression.

MOONLIGHT

As promised, the second part of the Didi Budiardjo photos. This time I slipped in some runway shots too. I didn't shoot much when Debussy's Claire de Lune started playing during the night as I simply wanted to sit back and enjoy the show.

CLAIRE DE LUNE #1

good to be clicking the 'blogger.com' button on my chrome's most visited front page today. Alot has happened this week and it seems that my weekend is looking more like an extra Tuesday and Wednesday (I didn't choose Monday because Mondays are somewhat more daunting). But I ain't going to ramble on that..
Instead, I'll be rambling on Didi Budiardjo's marvelous 'Claire de Lune' (moonlight in French) show for today. After battling the infamous 5pm Jakarta traffic, I arrived at the venue and headed backstage. I was awed by all of the marvelous pieces some still hanging on the racks and some worn by the models. The Javanese tradition inspired collection was dominated with white, black, red and gold colors. In contrast with the traditional aspects, Didi tossed in many futuristic attributes such as the accessories created by renowned Indonesian designer, Rinaldy A Yunardi. These include chained loaded headgears, intricate ear pieces, and last but not least my favorite clear acrylic (or whatever it's made of) coral reef-like masks/hats. I'll have to split this post into two because there were alot pictures..

JUST KEEP SWIMMING...

I have been accustomed to the fact that 'swimsuit shopping' has never been a part of my shopping list nor it has been a part of my shopping budget in my whole life. And because of that, I never really search for the perfect bikini, tankini or any kind of swimmer designers. I buy one or two swimmers and I wear that until it is no longer wearable. You can count with your fingers how many times I dip into the pool every year anyway (that's ZERO for 2012.. not even a finger there)

However, when the Australian Fashion Week tweets and instagrams were all thrown into my feed, I was introduced to this one swimwear brand that I will never forget. That's We Are Handsome I'm talking about here. With a catchy brand name (it's We Are Handsome just in case if you thought my last sentence was a joke) and cant-steer-my-eyes-off prints, the Aussie label has made into my favorite designers to watch list.
