BAG PLAY

It's always exciting when a new creative director takes over a brand with such extensive history. Louis Vuitton for example. Just last November, it was announced that Nicholas Ghesquière was appointed as the new artistic director and boy I couldn't be any more in love with his collections. Marc Jacobs I loved your quirky charms, but Ghesquière was more 'me'. It was an honor to be able to continue working with Louis Vuitton over the past year. I really enjoyed the process of selecting the new clothes & bags I wanted to shoot with. Despite the fact that I had already grown some baby belly, with the help of correct sizing (it's not the end of the world if you have to wear Large ladies... you can even get compliments on looking skinnier!) and posing, we managed to pull everything off without me looking like a human kangaroo. Thank you for the terrific team !

THE BREEZE

Note to my Instagram followers, this was shot 2 months ago or something. So naturally the baby bump has not quite protruded yet. and Note to my blog-only-readers, yes I am pregnant again ! The light was beautiful on that particular afternoon... I remembered that it was hazy, soft amongst the occasional clouds.. and the wind was wonderful as well. You know, that kind of cool breeze that made shooting in a Jakarta afternoon a tad easier, and a tad less sweaty. and thanks to that weather, I actually have some content to upload for the blog ! Otherwise, it's another Instagram iphone OOTD...

SHADES SEASON

One blog post after my usual hiatus and before the much awaited Eid holidays! I am in Singapore as I am typing this up. gone are those days when I used to tote around my SLR during any travels, now all I am toting is my baby carrier, a bugaboo, and my diaper bag for all those baby needs. But I won't be discussing any of that for the moment. Let's jump to the actual 'thing' I want to share..

remember my collaboration with Louis Vuitton from a couple months ago? Last time we worked with bags.. Now we are working on Sunglasses! I was extremely excited because I think many of you know that sunglasses have always been one of those accessories I often wear to complete my outfits. Together with Advan Matthew 's eyes behind the lens and the magic hands of Andreas Zhu (those cat eyes and brows are too good to be true eigh?), I couldn't be happier with all of the pictures produced. Hope you enjoy these photos and I wish an early happy Eid Mubarak to my followers who celebrate the holiday.

OH SO BLACK

*if you have seen this post, there was some technology glitch so I had to reupload it*

hands down to the 'color' that never disappoints : black ! I think I have said this on the blog, but I will say it again.. When in doubt, wear black (not red!) Black is classic, slimming, formal, chic.. everything really.. and you don't have to worry about finding the correct shade that suits your skin tone. This is the second last yet my favorite set from my Louis Vuitton collaboration..

NN 14

grey tulle, navy & white lace, and black sequins all in one outfit ? Well, I couldn't ask for a better texture and color mixture ! I've been eyeing on this Louis Vuitton NN 14 bag ever since the campaign with Fan Bing Bing was released. It is not because bucket bags are creating a storm lately, but it's the subtle monogramming and graffiti work by Stephen Sprouse that caught my attention. I don't usually aim for something monogrammed but when it's indistinct like so, defo a green light for me.

FRONT BACK WHEREVER

I must say that I had most fun with this particular cardigan (yep a cardigan! I know it looks like a pretty silk scarf at a glance right?) out of the 7 looks I created with Louis Vuitton together ! It actually reminded me of my high school days where I was lazy to put my jacket properly so I just slid my hands through the back of my jacket i order to keep myself warm. Fast forward to 2014 and I still think that it's cool to wear clothes in ways that they're not supposed to worn though.

SEA AND SUNSHINE

Slowing releasing one more look from my collaboration with Louis Vuitton and Advan Matthew ! This look I styled is actually one of my favorites. Although I did wished that the sun did not hide behind the clouds that afternoon, I couldn't have asked for a better team to go through the whole day photo session..

THE TRENCH

Debuting the first set of images of my collaboration with (..... drumroll) LOUIS VUITTON and talented local photographer ADVAN MATTHEW. Yes, the project I admit that I secretly smiled for is finally now online on the blog (went online first on Instagram a few weeks ago because I could not resist sharing). I will not babble much, just hope that you all will enjoy this set and the next couple sets of pictures to come !

APRIL UPDATE

Not sure when this goes online but I am typing this up on a Saturday night. I saw Captain America earlier today and kept thinking about Agent Romanoff's mid length hair and how did Nick Fury came back from the dead (I desperately needed to go to the toilet during that segment)..

Anyhow, enough on the Captain America random thoughts. FINALLY sharing my current favorite jeans on the blog today! I think it made a couple of appearances through my Instagram but  I never managed to get it on the blog.. 95%of My free time when I am not attending my clients or not replying my clients' queries is now for Denzel (the other 5% is doing random stuff like playing Cookie Run par example - hey! We humans all need some time for a little randomness that makes us happy). I was on the roof per usual doing my outfit photos and my son came with my helper .. so I thought it'll be nice to have non-iphone-front-camera shots together once in every while right?

1969

I've been searching for the perfect boyfriend jeans for quite some time. I've spotted ones I like online but I don't like the idea of buying pants (or jeans, shorts, etc) without trying it on as I'm pretty picky when it comes purchasing bottoms with a good cut. So, I never quite got myself the dream pair of bf jeans.. Until.. GAP asked me to collaborate for their Styld.by project. I was allowed to pick a pair of jeans, and you can guess what kind of jeans I searched in their store..

SMART !

I am quite sure many dslr owners can relate to my story I'm about to share today. Remember that moment you've just bought your dslr? No matter how heavy it was, or how little space left you have in your purse, or even how those 'journalist-screaming' camera bags were... You'd do whatever it takes to bring that dslr so that you can take the perfect picture.

Fast forward some time later.. Where you might or might not have bought top notch lens that makes the camera a hell lot heavier... Suddenly, carrying your slr becomes a burden & you start to look for great cameras with a weight that won't make you look like hunchback of notredame in the long run. Today, meet my new buddy : the Samsung NX 2000. A "mini" dslr in which its' white body had me fall in love the moment I unboxed it (and for the girly girls, you'd be happy to hear that it also comes in pink!). Dead easy to use, transfers to my smartphone in just less than second with the Samsung Smart Camera App or even shoot & have all pictures directly transferred to my phone/tablet with it's Autoshare feature. All this just over a wifi connection.

OXBLOOD

I purchased this oxblood red full skirt when I was still pregnant and despite me trying to figure out some way to incorporate this into my maternity wardrobe, I failed. When the package arrived (which always comes really late in Indonesia by the way...) my bump had already grown into a size that could no longer fit into the skirt. I even tried to hide the unzipped zippers with a belt, still failed. Seeing how desperate I was to twirl around with this skirt, you could guess that this was the one item I grabbed when I was first allowed to get out of the house ! My figure is still slightly funny proportion-wise but so far this light tank and heavy skirt combo makes my figure alot better in sight..

SHIMMERING SEQUINS

Another reason why I dislike taking outfit photos is the heat that I have to deal with. I was fortunate enough to be blessed by the windy Gods the day I shot these photos, but the winds weren't enough to keep my sweat at bay (especially when I have 2 long-sleeved pieces over my body). Because of this wind and sweat thing, my hair seems to stick to my face for the whole course of the shoot.. very inconvenient indeed.. ps. do bear with me as I am having a phase of wearing black and white everything...

MONOGRAM

When it comes to monograms, I guess that there's nothing more iconic than Louis Vuitton's "LV" logo. I remember that Speedy was the Birkin of the year 2000. So popular that replicas were sold literally on every corner of the globe (like those random street sellers in Paris & Milan who fled when police came)..
I admit that I admired those monograms for a time but when everyone was carrying them, I got tired. I stashed my monogram bags to the back of my closet until recently I felt like taking one of them out for a walk. I added the faux foxtail I purchased off ebay to give the purse a fresh feel..

STUCK IN 50s

polkadots and mid length skirts.. Not the usual cup of tea you see in my blog, but the thing is that I've been sandwhich-ed with old photos from the 50s. and the longer I stare at those pictures, the more I wanted my own longer length a-line skirt. I browse online like I usually do and I'm glad that Vobee had this pretty bright blue version in stock.

THE JOKER

I have had this Miu Miu joker dress for almost a third of a decade now but don't think I have shown it on the blog ever. My mom has always been a Prada/Miu Miu fan but I couldn't understand why until I saw this collection. It was THE collection that made me love Miucia Prada very much up until this day. I am not sure if this dress should be called a 'dress' or 'tunic' on me. Clearly, I am not blessed with a 175cm figure so I found that the best solution is to wear shorts or stockings with the Joker...
