ESSENTIALS

Jakarta Fashion Week has officially begun on Saturday! Sad to say that I won't be able to make it to most of the shows due to my job (and my need to stay fit....) But I'm equally excited to read twitter and web updates that will be posted during the week. I thought it would be fun to do some sort of 'fashion week essentials' type of post for the Sunday... ps. even if this is dedicated for fashion week, most of the items I list have become my daily essentials too !

heels vs flats is the question.. if you ask me, go for heels at any time, bring some flats in your bag and change them whenever you're on a "break".. These black ones are from Able-shoe. They fold in half and they come with a wallet that unzips into a tote bag where you can stash your heels in ! very practical for those i-cant-walk-anymore moments

3 Magic Things : Foot Glide sticks because blisters are the least thing you want and prevention is better than intervention.
Two : oil blotting sheets because you don't to be photography with a shiny forehead
Trois : Lucas Paw Paw ointment. I tell you, this is THE ultimate multi purpose gel. Great for mosquito bites, lip balm, cracked / blistered feet (when the prevention method fails..) and even for dry cuticles !

with pretty shoes, you'll want a pretty pedicure to show off. I prefer dark shades over light/bright ones.. but it's your own preference really.. or if you like things au naturel, just simply buff it.

camera to record anything you feel like.. I usually bring this S95 as a companion to my EOS as some of the security guards here can be a real asshole when it comes to shooting with slrs inside or outside buildings

fully charged blackberry or any other phone you prefer.. no briefing necessary

iPad to get things done quicker.. and to entertain you (or a couple of friends) during traffic

a good and healthy meal to fuel up your body.. I get cranky when I don't eat

bring pens, they always come in handy.. and have your coffee/tea to clear up your head ;)

more foods.. once in a while, treat yourself to good meal without thinking about those calories. I usually do this as a 'reward' when I've been on track with my eating habit.. on a note, I totally recommend Opus Cafe at Plaza Indonesia !

last but not least.. a big and stylish bag to stow everything inside..
