The Suit

I've discovered that the perfect red lipstick is probably the best accessory any woman can afford. My favorites are Chanel Rouge Hydrabase Lipstick in Red N°5 (worn on this post) and a brick red one from Bobbi Brown. The red lipstick is also becoming my "transition dressing" (from office to after-office hours) staple. When I can't be bothered to work on a day-to-night outfit, I just swipe on some red lipstick or some Benetint cheek/lip stain for a nice flush of color. I actually wore this for friday night out. I was starring at my closet and it's been boring to go out in dresses/skinny jeans. If I wore this to work, then it means that I have an important meeting on the day. On a daily basis, I dress REALLY casual for work (dark skinnies and a neat-looking top). I can't bother fighting the heat in dress pants and jackets. ps. this is also probably the first time you'll spot me in a ponytail :)

zara blazer, moschino pants, white raybans, christian louboutin pumps

sorry for the delay with my emails ! im very busy with my thesis at the moment that even finding time to shoot and edit photos for the blog is quite tough for me. I'm doing my best in juggling between school and blogging :)

Musk

wearing one of my favorite colors with my new favorite top and one of my favorite shoes (if my high school english teacher saw this sentence he would've killed me as I've just repeated the word 'favorite' 3 times in one phrase.. and 4 by now) sometimes my favorite outfits are the ones that are put together within 5 minutes. I put this for my Sunday services after coming home late on a Saturday night (clearly waking up at 6.30am on a sunday isn't that convenient). I love the peplum-like bottom on the tunic which sorta poofs out my flat butt.

i feel that the zippers on the waist sorta resemble the zipper cut out coats that many streetstyle blogs have been capturing in the blogs (img from StockholmStreetsyle)

my jewelries were given by Tea Label, a local brand which I've been recently introduced. I loved how their pieces look sweet, but not overly sweet. I love adding pearls and chains to my outfits so its no surprise that my eyes were drawn into the pink bracelet. On the other hand, the orange wrap around was THE bracelet I've been looking for ages. I know that lots of international brands have made this a hit product, but I couldn't find them anywhere in Jakarta.

woolford leggings, hermes bag, chanel sunglasses, tea label bracelets, louis vuitton shoes

Napoleon

So I'm *almost* done with school, and now I'd like to share one of a dress up outfit I wore for a presentation during the semester. This was for a consumer behavior research project and I choose France for the country. We had to research all sort off things from culture, attitude, clothes, and many more stuff (I feel like I'm sounding like my lecturer now). As I research into France, I realized that Napoleon Bonaparte was quite of "the icon". The first thing that came into my mind was the pandemic of Military Jackets (thanks to another French design house, Balmain, of course) for the past 2 seasons. So I decided to dress the part like Napoleon for the presentation. Sometimes it's great to wear something you don't normally wear. It's even fun-er when you take photos (minus the sweating and the people that stop and stare).

there's napoleon for those aren't familiar with him. I had plan to wear my riding boots with the entire outfit but then I realized I can no longer bear with the hot weather of Jakarta. I was soooo sweaty by the time I finished shooting this set of photos.

zara jacket, banana republic top, miss sixty pants, mulberry bag, hat from tomodachi in bandung, rick owens boots.

i've had the hat for ages but I never got the chance to wear it except when I was in Bali last year. the boots actually belonged to my cousin. She wanted to borrow my Givenchy wedges so I told her that I'll only lend it if I can borrow these rick owens. They're soooo comfy to walk around all day long.

Dewi Fashion Knight

saving the best for the last is exactly what this year's Jakarta Fashion Week has done. Last year's was closed by the Grazia magazine launching and this year's was by the Dewi Fashion Knight 'Style Spectrum'. 5 local designers who each have their own unique traits showcased their works for the night along with a charity auction of dresses which raised millions of rupiah. I can't personally choose which one I liked the most because they're all great in their own ways. For those who missed it, here are the highlights of the show.

Horse Shoe

heavy texturing and whites from Priyo Oktaviano's The Glory . those horse shoes were the highlight of the night. I can't imagine myself walking on those towering shoes

Ali Charisma's Culture War debuted first. Hints of Mongolian warriors were present through the metal embellished jackets and wrapped boots in different colors. A dash of hot pink was added through the model’s hair for a touch of modernity.

minimalism at Kiata Kwanda's Pure Line bleached out, single line brows, and black satin dresses that look the same at a glance but different when observed closely defined Kwanda's show.

the stylish crowd . cosmopolitan's lily marpaung on far left .

sexy, sheer, lace, paris .. just a few key words I could come up to sum up Stella Rissa's collection. The jewel embellished socks were one of my favorite things of the runway

with diana rikasari & dimas novriandi

Sea Goddess
last but certainly not the least, Tex Saverio’s La Glaçon. A genius man indeed. Models were made up like mysterious creatures from the deep ocean wearing glitzy dresses in shades of gray and blues.

here's a quick shot of what I wore . Agent Provocateur corset, RED Valentino ruched skirt, mom's belt, vintage Chanel bag with lace scarf tied on, Pedder Red boots. the purpose of the scarf was actually to cover myself up shall any creepers come up. good thing that they didnt! I loovvvee this skirt to death. the ruched details is just amazing.
