Playtime .

me want Friday please !

Had a little bit of fun with my outfit today.. went around in a tube playsuit.. I wore this at my holiday for a day of shopping in Seminyak . since I was too enjoying my shopping, I forgot to take shots during the day.. haha.. by the night, I was too tired to pose.. so here I am wearing it again with a different styling of course.. Added the faux leather jacket..

What do you think of the fringe wedges ? I decided to wear them in the morning, but changed my mind when I got in the car.. I was too shy, didnt have the courage to pull it off.. There's been nasty stuff going on at my college for people who wear "weird items".. Some students are making fun of the others who wear "funny stuff" using twitter.. its on the topic #cumadilasalle . i dont wanna tell much, but I think it's very rude to make fun of what others wear in public.. should be private stuff you know..

the playsuit on its own. I love the stripe print so much! good thing its not white and red or it'll look too cheesy..

bad face+hair day today that's why i censored it. haha
Clothes details: striped playsuit from some boutique in Seminyak, faux leather jacket from Wishdrobe, random bracelets, fringe wedges were a gift .

there goes the fringe wedge. the additional fur is my dog . haha

me with my friend Pao Pao . Love her 'holiday look' and she's carrying such a cute printed trolley. she has an online shop called FairyMuff (click here to go to her Facebook online shop). The trolley contained all new items she got for her shop. In fact, I just bought a cobalt blue cardigan from her yesterday !

Look at my swooshy hair ! it was a candid foto . oh and I changed my fringed wedges to these red canvas espadrilles from Country Road.

Which shoes do you like better ?

bzzzttt Bali !

you might be wondering why I put that as the title. Well, that's my current "it" saying.. I know so random thing to say yah? heheh
so ! here I am back to Jakarta from paradise island with a hell ton of projects and mid term tests to do ! urrgghhh . so, I'm sad to say, that I'll be lacking of updates once again in this 2 week period. I'm just gonna post up some pictures from highlights of my Bali trip. Wished I had my boyfriend's half-SLR camera photos with me (he uses a Canon G10 by the way. Very nice camera for those who want the SLR experience but hate carrying about the bulk and weight).

I had a very nice trip in fact! Stayed at the Bvlgari (which surprisingly had a LOT of monkeys and i HATE monkeys) and went around the island on a sucky Suzuki Elf which is like a moving vibrator. We wanted to take a better car, but there aren't any other bigger car. We had 10 passengers (and all who were very HUGE in size, and dont forget our 12 piece luggage) and there was no car that was able to catter our passenger number (..and baggages too).

Food was awesome! Ate Mannekepis (Swiss restaurant @ seminyak), The Flying Piano (the only restaurant with beef fondue @ Legian), Bluefin (fusion sushi @ Kuta), Flapjacks (pancake, waffles, and gelato bar @ kuta). Ask me if you need any recommendations :)

Here comes the picture roll!

Balinese Meal

Another mini update from my Bali trip thanks to blackberry email services + blogger email posting .

This is Nasi Campur Warung Made . One of Bali's famous foods . To me its good, but not as good that it makes me crazy . Maybe because this is a Halal (no pork) version of it . The nasi campur I usually eat back home uses a lot of pork stuff like pork satay, red meat pork, and more . :D

I'll keep posting if I can snap good pics from my sucky BB camera

Checkmate .

God teachers are seriously evil. I'm happy that I'm having my Lebaran 1 week holiday (and i am going to BALI TOMMOROW!!!!) buttttttt .. sadly, my teachers are pilling me up with project which are due right away when I'm back from holiday . what crap-ass they are . they should've given prior notice so I could get the work done weeks before the holiday. Now i'm stuck with a pile of homework.. that's why I haven't been blogging much these days . I'll continue to blog more once workflow has relaxed :)

Here's what I wore yesterday .

PhotobucketPhotobucket
Zara checked tshirt, Guess yellow printed shirt, Zara sequined belt, Seven for All Mankind skinnies, Zara red peep-toes.

I'm tucking only the front part of my t-shirt by the way . but you can't really see it clearly in the picture :(

Brights or Nudes ?

This season is pretty much "Go-out-there colors" or "I'd-blend-in colors". Which category would you fall into ?

Kudos to Mulberry ! Love their collection every single inch. Very bright, young and fun but still classy at the same time. I like the way they use bright colors and prints on classic silhouettes (like an A-line skirt).

Again, the brown and denim color combo here. It's very Southern especially when worn with Fringe boots !
Never thought that top to bottom blue would also work. Turns that it's okay as long as you mix it up in different hues (check that killer navy leather jacket by the way). The beige bag makes the whole look acceptable instead of over-the-top.

Eyeing out on some pastels here . I like the pink & black printed bag. It's a new twist on their classic bags. Usually the bags are quite "adult & old", but now it's more suitable for the young.

Max Azria . This man has done a great job at Herve Leger, let's see how it goes with his own branded collection.

I like the way the cutout details aren't overly done. It's still sexy in a sophisticated way.

I'm pure speechless with these 2 dresses. Maybe I'll go to my tailor and make something similar like this . hehehehee .

Vera's Vibe

Looks like Vera Wang has gotten into the the edgy trend hole too. Her collection is usually feminine but this time she's kicking it up to the next level. So far this is my Top 5 Spring 2010 collections. There's this androgyny vibe but the whole silhouette is still very ballerina-ish. Check out the poofy tulle skirt below. That look is a total genious.

The tie up platforms also remind me of a ballerina's pointe shoes. I'd love to have the ballerina and dancer trend to come back.

Photo courtesy of NayDoesBallet from Flickr.

Despite these feminine silhouette and ballerina vibes, the whole looks is toughened up with heavy (VERY heavy in fact) chainmail necklace. black and gray monochromatic colors make this collection close to perfect.

by the way, I'm so jealous of the model's fresh face looks ! How can I ever get that type of skin? (yes i know they wear makeup, but I'm pretty sure their skin is still on their own as well). I'm also crazy with the messy bun. It's like the bun you've been wearing after getting a ballet lesson . :D

New York fashion week Round up !

So far I’m eyeing out a lot of 90s trends from grunge, minimalism, power dressing and even those out-of-the-box Japanese designers like Rei Kawakubo and Yohji Yamamoto who used a lot of deconstructive styles. Lately, Marc Jacob’s collection has caused a stir here. Honestly I’m not a fan of it because it’s not wearable at all. I’m excited for Herve Leger’s collection though. Still doing their trademark bodycon dresses, but this time with much more edge. From distressed denim to creamy beiges, every dress int he collection is SUPERB ! Here are a few of my favorites:

of course it features my favorite blue pieces and the white dress second from the left manages to incorporate the cutout trend in a very elegant way. those towering platforms complete the look effortlessly.
Here's another random collage I did on the Spring 2010 shows. I didn't like the whole collection of Y-3 and Behnaz Sarafpour this time. The collage consisted of the few pieces I like (that includes the the asymmetrical blazer from Y3)

ZAC POSEN, one word: very colorful and lively!
It's not all wearable if you follow the styling ensemble. But by choosing a few pieces from the collection, you should be good to go :)
Check out these kick-ass thakoon heels . I don't I'll wear flats every again when I see the heels from Spring 2010 collection. THey are just too good to be passed!

Peach Yogurt

I woke up 1 hour late today because I did too much blog hopping the other night. So my outfit was like a 30sec-put-together-outfit.. I'm working my wardrobe staple: black leggings, long tank, and a jacket plus flats for all day errands. Here's a picture of it:

Pull & Bear layered tank, Zara tartan blazer, Zara leggings, Forever21 cross necklace, Moselle white necklace, Zara leggings, and Tory Burch jelly flats. plus WRP BodyShape Melon milk. haha

I went to PIM2 to get a bang haircut . then went around the mall for a bit and I checked out Ryu Myu (that new store people are raving about in magazines).. I didn't find anything too interesting in particular. My highlight of the day was when I ate Miki Oji San's froyo. I never knew that cheesecake company had froyo. Maybe it was only available at PIM ? Guess what, the froyo was totally awesome. It's one of the few ones that can be compared to my favorite Heavenly Blush pomegranate.

Derek Lam & his Pretty Prints

I'm in love with Derek Lam's pretty prints this Spring. If I had the cash, I'd be happy to buy his whole collection. Not to the killer shoes that make me go speechless.

The prints used were very artsy. It's not the typical spring flowers and all. They are truly unique. I can't even explain my emotions here on the blog. haha. Lastly, check out the zips of the back of the dresses. Zippers will continue to be a trend a next year. They make any kind of sweet dress more edgy without being over.

Put to Test .

I wore my holed up tights for class today. Turns out the holes stayed true to their shape. They didn't get bigger as I predicted it would. Here's what I wore it with :

Vintage leather jacket, Striped sack dress from Wishdrobe, M)Phosis belt, Forever21 necklace, random bracelets from miscellaneous brands, DIY Marks & Spencer tights, Shoes from Hong Kong .

I'm thinking of buying more cheap tights for experimentation. Any ideas for me ?

That's my friend above at my Advertising class wearing H&M head-to-toe (except for shoes which are mine!). She NEVER (YES NEVER) wears dresses so the whole class voted on her to be the model for the focus group discussion activity. :)

New York Fashion Week .

Here's my inspiration board for the day from Boy of Band of Outsiders, Richard Chai, Altuzarra, Luca Luca, and Rag & Bone .

Boy of Band is doing this California cool style featuring aviators and loose+sheer pieces. Richard Chai is actually one of the few designers who steers away from the grunge theme this spring. The collection is feminine (hence the colors, cuts and prints) but it's not overtly girly. The leather sandal boots are so cute !

As for Altuzarra, I've actually never heard of this brand before. But it did attract my attention! Earthy colors and tribal details such as those african-inspired thigh-high boots (never thought these Fall 09 boots would make it to Spring!) and unique cutting and cutout details truly make this collection one of a kind.

Only one picture for Luca Luca. Didn't post the rest because the rest were just standard dresses. I'm loving the off-shoulder trend here. And it's not overtly done in a grunge way.

Not too impressed with Rag & Bone this season. I only liked 2 looks from the collection. The rest was too masculine for me. I should try wearing denim with leather these days. the ankle boots and socks combo is making another apperance if you haven't realize. This trend somehow reminds me of a "hunting to the wild" kind of a thing attire.
