8 Dancers and 3 Photographers
doing something slightly different for today's post :) some couple weeks ago, me and carissa's friends rented out a studio in west jakarta and we basically had a blast. dont laugh but i felt like a pro having all of these light boxes with the wireless thing attached on the camera. lol.. it was my first time working with lighting as well (and the 2 other photographers had NO SINGLE idea about lighting too), so we all basically did the trial and error thing.. i got lots of "blacked out" photos when all 3 photographers realeased the shutter at the same time. In the end, I decided to take the wireless flash transmitter on and off constantly. some "scenes" worked well with the natural light and some not really. nevertheless, we had fun blamming each other for the black images anyway ;)
Anyway, I do hope you enjoy these photos ! constructive criticism are highly welcomed !
the "frozen jump shots"were so much fun to experiment with. i used the internal pop up flash for this
loved this one as well..
im surrounded by a clad of nikon-ers once again..
"centerstage" inspired editting :) those who dont know what centerstage is.. its a dance (more to ballet) movie.. i really recommend watching it !!

You know what, I was a modern ballet dancer/jazz/contemporary dancer when I was younger but now I've shifted to hiphop dancing. So posts like this really strikes my heart.
My favorite is the 4th to the last photo. Did you edit it? I'm not so good in photoshop/editing photos. If you have time to make tutorials, please do. I'd love to learn :)

In my very own opinion love, I love the entire set of photos Michelle.
You pretty did a good job in taking those photos and yes, they were in real action.
it is always a trial and error thing but nothing beats learning from your mistakes.

These are amazing, great job! The second to last one is probably my fave, but they're all fantastic.
i feel the same way about the flash...i am still figuring out how to use my speedlite...and it takes up too much batteries..hehe.

Oh my gosh I love these shots! And I LOVE that you have a Center Stage inspired one. That movie is always a blast to watch (especially the end dance, no matter that it was realistically impossible!). I would give you constructive criticism on lighting and such, but I have no clue about any of that, and they all look gorgeous to me!
