Jacket Emergency

I've been wanting to get a nice fitted blazer and that perfect leather jacket since like last september? haha. I know it's long and guess what? I HAVE NOT got both. :( I found a couple in-stores, but none seems to fit me very well. Last time in Zara they've got this black satin one with a red leopard lining inside (VERY VERY cool). I was already obsessed with that one. But ! the XS size was already sold out, so yeah, bad luck for me :(

I was just browsing around asos.com and net-a-porter and I was looking the 'jackets' section (as always with any online shops). Then I found these three jackets that I'd totally die for. Too bad the price does not meet my budget (especially in this recession period). But I just feel like sharing the joy of looking at these jackets.

I thought that it's nice to incoporate Gossip Girl as part of the collage as well because it's the TV show that makes me want to dress in blazers and leather jackets!

The Diesel and Rick Owens jackets are a total die-for! I just wish I had the cash to pay for that !

Frobsession !

I'm freaking tired today. I got finished another mid term test for fashion phenomena and yet I still have a pile of final projects to do!
So I won't be updating as frequently as I would now .

But anyway enough blabbing, lately I've been obsessed with frozen yoghurts! - just ate the Pink Panther thing at FX wit my friends today. Fro-yos are surely a hit in Jakarta now. From Sour Sally, to J.Cool from J.co, Heavenly Blush and the classic Yogen Fruz, I think it's Indonesia's current business trend to open up a yoghurt shop thing. Personally I like yogen fruz and J.Cool . Sour Sally is rather too plain for me plus the price is quite expensive for what they are giving.

Healthy seems to be the new fashion here! I'm glad that the bread (breadTalk, breadStory, Bread whateverrr ???) or donut (j.co, krispy kreme, i-crave, you name it) fever is off now..

When You Wish Upon a SHOE .

I want these chunky wedge (or something similar like the Pierre Hardy collaboration project with Gap ones) so badly! These would look so cool with anything I guess. They have the right amount of edge to toughen up sweet spring floral trends or to hype up the ethnic trend! I guess wedges are making their way back cooler than ever!

Spring Stuff

I was just browsing through March's teenVogue after a dinner out with my boyfriend and some pals. Then I found this 2 looks I like. Both are wearable and they suit my style.

The left one is doing the 'graphic mix' trend inspired by Narciso Rodriguez. I thought it was simple and chic (not to mention pure comfort of a tshirt, short and flats combo).

Then I saw this look on the right and I thought it looks like my 'Green Day' outfit (see previous 2 posts). The only difference is that the dress is purple florals, the coat is white and belted, and its paired with high-tops. I had a green small floral print dress in a similar shape, and a green nylon jacket and I paired my outift with a flat beaded white T-strap sandals. What a coincidence that one of my styling was on TeenVogue ? ;)

Unworthy Finds

Chanel lambskin totes (Spring/Summer 2009)

Guess how much these totes cost?

$1,525 for the tiny pink one and $2,995 for the white one.

Sure they're made out of lambskin, but helloowww?? the price is just about the same as the classic black lambskin flapbags! I think everyone (except those who have an excessive amount of cash in their bank) would definitely buy a classic bag than these!

I think it's cute that Chanel is making these bags (maybe they're doing the eco-friendly tote bag trend?). But honestly, I think that they're setting the price way too high.

Crazy Stares.

This is my real Friday clothes. I haven't taken out the boots for more than a year. Last time i used it was when I went to China in December 2007. This was also my first knee high boot purchase. After all, it never snows in Jakarta!

My inspiration behind it was Hannah MacGibbon (designer of Chloe). Here's a picture of her clothes at the end of the Chloe Spring/Summer 2009 collection runway:

I thought the look was very effortless chic. I guess a white long-sleeved top never fails to look cool. Ever since I found a the PERFECT white long sleeve top (I found it in my mom's closet), I just became obsessed with it and I started to wear too often. It's a perfect 'blank canvas' for people who love layering jewelry like me. It matches with jeans, shorts, skirts in whatsoever color or shape. Plus ! It's very comfortable. One sad news: I don't know where to get it in Jakarta. G2000 blu is only available in singapore I think..

well anyway back to my looks. the button down version of the white top makes the look seem more boho I guess. With gold accessories (my favorite!), the whole look was kind of glamour boho i guess :D
one thing I didn't like about wearing this is that I keep getting stares from people as knee-high boots are like never worn by anyone. Even ankle-boots still seem weird to most Indos! It's sad that the fashionistas can't wear those cool booties without the stare of people.

Going Green

Okay, this was suppose to be uploaded on Wednesday the 18th. But I didn't have time!
Anyway, I had my fashion phenomena class that day. and as always, I plan what to wear the night before. I don't know why but I ended up choosing greenie stuffs. Even on the Wednesday itself, I ordered my a whole plate of steamed broccoli from my usual Japanese restaurant. Even my friends started telling me I'm having a green day.

I liked editting my pictures above. I thought it was nice to put the purple Balenciaga there. I was too lazy to grab the bag when I was taking the photo, so then I decided to just Photoshop it for you all to see! which one do you think is better? left or right?
I personally liked the left one even though it seems too greeny. But when worn with my trusty purple Balenciaga, everything just looks different!

I don't think the dress with the white cardigan was that bad though. But I was having a more edgy mood that day. THe white cardigan was rather too sweet (and kind of common).

Baroque Fest

Last week in my fashion phenomena class, I was just learning the historic baroque costumes that were so decorative. I can't imagine myself being a woman at that time period wearing all of those layers of clothes (which includes a 'farthingale' - a cage like structure that makes the bottom part of the dress poof). Plus ! Vermins grew in their hair because they wash it only once a month ! Uggghhh . Can't imagine anything worse than that.

Buuutttt after flipping through the march Elle mag, I was more than delighted to see Balmain's spring collection that was inspired by the men's Baroque coats (or known as justacorps). Turns out Baroque clothes aren't that bad when some of today's designer created a modern twist of it.

The top picture is what I actually wore on the Valentine's dinner with my hubby. BUTTTTT since the photographer (ehem. not mentioning any names) didnt take a picture of shoes, I had to upload another photo that actually had my shoes in it. Oh well. I don't know which bag to choose that night. But in the end I decided to go for the blue one because I just felt like it. :D

I feel like wearing bright tighths today for some odd reason. (FYI: I'm not a very multi-colored tights person. I prefer black and black). Maybe it's because I'm just rather excited for Friday. But, Turns out this look worked out well for me :) perhaps I should start wearing more 'colored' tights..
Wearing this top reminds me of my boyfriend. He gave it for my 16th birthday. I remember my expression at the time. I was just hysteric! Well who wouldn't be? It's a Miu Miu joker top!

Oh well, I got accounting homework to do and some other crappy final projects.

I've always to start a fashion blog but I've never really managed to do so. I did it once but I failed to constantly update it and then I became lazy to ever open it again. Now that I have a BlackBerry I will have no excuse for me to not blog ! :P
