ADJUSTMENT PERIOD
So this is my first official pregnancy style post I guess (..first one to actually accentuate my bump instead of concealing like I did for the past 5 months). And thank you everybody who wished me all sorts of good things from my last post (..even though some of the lovely comments were deleted when I tried approving them but fat thumbs of mine touched the wrong part of my phone screen -_-") Anyhow, I am still trying to adjust my dressing cues with the new figure. Everyday I am tempted to grab the loose-est top only to pair it with some sweatpants.. but when I am out, the comfort dressing is out of question. I don't like to make people think "Oh she's pregnant and she can only wear frumpy clothes!" wrong wrong wrong. But still, it's not as easy to find clothes that suit my figure. Yesterday, blessed by the blogging Gods, the Karen Millen team sent me in this lovely stripe dress (woohooooooo I love stripes very much, even before the trend made it big again year!) To my surprise, it fit me just nice (still nice even when I layered another top underneath).

WICKED WEATHER
Wicked weather season is back and by "wicked" I mean that the weather has been unpredictable. Scorching hot in the morning, heavy rain during mid-day, and bright sun in the afternoon again... Not that I spend a lot of time outdoors here (correction : I don't do outdoors except when I'm walking to the carpark), but the temperature does highly affect my dressing cues. My foolproof solution for an all-in-one-weather-appropriate outfit is to make myself warm in the upper torso while keeping the rest "cool" with a mini bottom. That way when the top is warm, your legs sorta feel warmer too..and when it's hot, your legs get a breeze of air and the top half of the body also cools off (or is that just me?)
I'm happy to have this large sized cropped sweater added to my wardrobe! I currently only plain colored knits so it was nice when the awesome local brand I've been working with, PICNIC, carried a variety of prints in their store (both online here and offline at Gandaria City).

SOMERSET
I guess one of the best things I got from blogging is to be able to have friends from different corners of the world. That includes people from countries I've never even been to, and all thanks to technology we are able to be connected to each other. As you might have reckoned from Instagram and Twitter, I met up with Qin, Fhenny, and Catherine on a Sunday noon for brunch. I had fun giggling so I didn't bother taking photos (other than my iphone ones) during that.. But we took a bunch during our walk to the nearby skatepark ! special thanks to fhenny and catherine for my outfit photos

#BATIK DAY
When the afternoon light starts to peep into my room, I usually like to go out of the balcony, grab some coffee/tea, and just enjoy the moment. Random and weird ideas usually like to flow in but yesterday, this particular thought came up : I am an Indonesian, yet I've only featured batik once in this blog. The National Batik Day is tomorrow and I guess it's the perfect timing to share some more batik on Glisters and Blisters.
for a little bit of intro, Batik is a cloth that traditionally uses a manual wax-resist dyeing technique, plays an important role in the life of Indonesians being mostly the choice to be used in weddings and other momentous events. Its artistic side and design is also important since the creator needs the passion, patience, and skill to draw on the white cloth with the canting, to wax the lines to separate the sections of the drawing.

CHANGE IS GOOD
To make it up for my lack of posting, there 18 photos ! Well actually the situation was more like this... My assistant is still under training when it comes to using the camera. Hence, I take a tripod and have her fire the shutter (or I click the remote to get specific shots) and since I have been spoiled by Christy's presence for almost a year, I need to get my self-portrait neurons back in action.. And by that, I mean taking more photos than usual. Hence, I had too much frames that I couldn't bother narrowing down the selections furthermore.
You will notice that I don't keep the same accessories on me at all times (hat & sunglasses for this case). I tried to keep the hat on throughout the shoot but it was too hot and I could only last 10 shutters (..or 20 quick ones) before I sweated like a pig. There was also the sun that came out of a sudden and from what I have experienced, squinting and teensy asian eyes don't go well.. some improvisations throughout was definitely needed. Perhaps I should make a post on how I really change up accessories on a day-to-day basis..

DOUBLE VOLUME
I may not have fashion week anywhere on my agenda (except for checking style.com's app before bed), but my schedule for september is already looking pretty crazy. With no assistant, I'm resorting back to my good old tripod and remote days. These photos were taken after a whole day of errands. Therefore, please mind the tired face..

EYELETS
How ironic can it be that I spend most of my days infront of the same laptop I use to blog yet I always feel that I don't have time to blog.. Once again, schedule has been hectic .. Loads of photos waiting to be edited (sometimes I shall thank some clients who take really long when it comes to choosing the photos).. Loads of emails waiting the inbox.. Sleepless nights.. Yeah you get it.. This is an outfit from weeks ago that hasn't quite made it on the blog..

PUSSYBOWS
Here is why I dislike staying on top of trends: Too much shows, too much collections, too much editorials.. In the end, I am rarely able to remember who certain pieces are by and when they're launched (thank you for saving my brain style.com). For example today, I tried recalling Chloe's fall collection where a lot of pussybow blouses were on the runway. I thought it was 2007 but it was actually 2009.
As I turn to Google for answers like I always do and searched.. turns out most pussybow pieces came from 2011 (not 2012 like I recalled.. memory failure again). Well, it didn't bother me that I'm not the trendy bunch though.. Instead, I came to finding lots of great inspirations for my next attempt in wearing these bow adorned pieces (which I have also included as part of this post!) So yes, I'm done with one of my reasons why I refuse to wear every single trend per season.. I read & see.. I am likely to forget and eventually, I simply wear I like. // photos by Christy
