THE DEAL WITH ENDORSEMENTS, FROM AN INFLUENCERS VIEW

For my foreign followers, in Indonesia, “endorsements” is equal to “paid blog/social media posts”.

There has been a lot of misunderstandings between influencers and brand owners. I’ve been through this blogging & paid sponsorship ordeal since 2009 and for the last 4-5 years, I’ve scoot over into the business/brand owner position. Which makes me able to justify both the influencers’ & brand owners’ perspectives.

This topic will be spread into 2 posts : one from an influencers view & one from a business owners view to avoid confusion.

To make this article easier to read, I will not be writing in my usual paragraphs. I will write in Q&A forms instead.

WHY ARE ENDORSEMENTS EXPENSIVE? IT'S FREE TO TAKE PICTURES RIGHT?
No. It’s not free.. iPhone costs a lot, a camera costs even more, but it’s time that can’t be bought. The time we need to take & edit pictures , the time it took for us to get a couple thousand followers. Influencers work hard to get to where they are now.

Believe us, we've put a lot of thought into our 'pricelists' (well, at least the sane influencers have, even though I'm a blogger myself, I won't lie that there are insane bloggers too).

TURNING THREE

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY INDONESIA! My schedule has been full and I didn't have time to prepare my regular outfit photos let alone any a special post for the occasion. followers of my instagram / twitter / facebook would probably have known that my little blog here has turned three years old ! my dear assistant has kindly surprised me with a cake adorned with some of my personal collection after work..THANK YOU to every one of you who have supported me through the years! I hope that I can become a better blogger in the years to come...

Just more photos from my trip. It's difficult to get outfit photos taken when I don't have a tripod or someone reliable to shoot. The best solution would be going back to my old days where I shot from the mirror. lol. I'm back in Jakarta.. Got tons of emails to reply and I'm finding it hard to get out of the holiday blues even if it was a short trip.

FLYING BACK

I've been having mixed feelings about Blogger's web redesign. Personally liking the clean & fresh interface with white background and pops of orange here and there. However, the site is total dope when I need to access the editing tools on my ipad/phone. Here's the story..
I've been learning to travel light and I've quite succeeded with that for this Singapore trip. One carry on luggage for a 5 day trip which includes 2 shoes and my huge amount of toiletries (*applause*). Now that the baggage is solved, I also try to reduce the stuff I lug over my shoulders (ie. bag, computer, airport duty free, etc). Usually this means that I leave my laptop home and take the iPad instead. BUT due to Blogger's uncooperative layout, I guess I will still have to take my laptop with me next time. Lucky I've got hubby's laptop for a couple of minutes here..here are some snaps from my phone and instagram for today.. I was going to upload them yesterday but with blogger's mobile-friendly-failure, I couldn't. I'm catching a plane back to jakarta in a moment. See ya !

THE MANE

I'm in Singapore now and *trying* to be one dedicated blogger, I have managed to schedule some posts that will go live during the weekend just incase if I don't have any time to post or the internet to post.. this is a little sneak preview of tomorrow's outfit. Since I've already completed my camera equipment post, I'm thinking of doing another tips & trick type of write up on my hair.. particularly this wavy style. My schedule seems to look more 'relaxing' in the beginning of May and I figured it's a good time to switch the video mode on the camera again! have a great weekend...
