GINGERBREAD

this outfit was inspired by the.. gingerbread. I found a childhood picture of me standing nearby a giant gingerbread house and the next day I felt like wearing goldish-browns and reds all at once. very random I know.. The tank top from Stitch N Co was one of those pieces that'd make a perfect beach cover up. Covers the bottoms just nice (if you're about my height, or shorter of course) but not too long that it becomes an odd-length piece.

METALLIC CUFF

I've been in love with these gold cuffs ever since I first saw them on Tommy Ton's blog with those black Prada platforms. A month of two ago, Asos' iPad magazine featured these gold anklets. Sadly, it wasn't available at that time. I put those cuffs on my waitlist and yesterday, an email notification was sent that these gold charms are for sale ! I know spring is coming up but I can't help but wear black and navy especially when these ahorta have the two colors in it. The jacket is a great piece whenever you feel like perking up your casual outfits. (photos by christy)

ORIENT EXPRESS

This is what I wore for this year's Chinese New Year. Okay well, I had to cheat a bit with the photos as they were not shot on the holiday since there was not any reliable photographer at that time. Anyhow, I think the last time I recall wearing a Cheongsam was like 12 (or more?) years ago? I personally love how they accentuate the body's curves but I never found one I like until I encountered this teal number. plus with the sequined details, it's a major love for me.

M I N G D Y N A S TY

Currently hiding from all the crowd that's gathering in my house during this Lunar New Year thanks to a sudden diarrhea I got earlier in the morning. I'm not going to be narccistic for the day, instead I'd like to share this particular model that I've been drawn to. Say hi to Xi Meng Yao. Or more familiarly, Ming Xi.

At a towering height of 178cm, this Shanghainese beauty made her dirst debut at Givenchy's fall 2010 couture show, a first for Asian. As if that's not cool enough, she was handpicked by the fashion house's own designer, Riccardo Tisci to strut the catwalk. Ming Xi believes that Chinese models play an important role when China is a growing force within the luxury market.

CENTER PART

a quick update before I'm off to my chinese new year dinner with the family. I just realized that I have three balenciaga products on me as I'm typing the outfit details below. the cloudy weather may not lift my mood up but it's quite handy when I feel like taking my tights out for a walk. I thought that they would prevent mosquito bites but turns out their 'needles' can still poke through. Are all mosquitos that 'good' or is it just the ones living around my area?

GET OFF MY CLOUD

typing this up in the car as I try to finish my Friday errands . thank Jesus that the traffic isn't as pathetic as it usually is. Chinese new year is coming up in three days and I haven't prepped much to begin with. I wished that dark colors were acceptable for this holiday because I can't seem to find a dress in a bright hue that I like everywhere. Dressing to impress the grandmas and grandpas has never been easy...

GENNIE FLATS

I found my old Chloé satin flats in one of my old shoe boxes the other day. It's a size too small for me now but I still made the effort to jam my feet in it because they're the cutest flats I've ever owned to date. Don't they remind you of Aladdin? Gennies perhaps? Anyway,since the shoes were not too comfy, I made sure that the rest of the outfit was. and no other than the jeans and tshirt combo would be a better candidate for that.

COMMON INTEREST

there's only one thing me and my dude love within the fashion sphere : striped shirts. He's got a whole closet full of it (seriously!) and I'm still picking up stripey things here and there. This zara shirt was one of my few sale grabs. It was available in my size but I think it looks better oversized in Large.

NEON LIGHTS +ROMWE GIVEAWAY

Christy and I were planning to shoot these photos outdoor the other day but the rain suddenly poured and this indoor shoot came into mind. I must admit that this giant neon knit is too "heavy" for the jakarta weather but at the same time I can't resist wearing it because of it's popping color ! would love to rewear it again with hot pink pants if I had the chance to visit some cold country...

SUGAR HIGH

I made one giant post for summer, so I'm going to make another one for the "winter" hols. The first photo represents how I failed my diet miserably this holiday season. YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE

Called in sick today -> stayed home -> slept -> made some soup -> edited photos -> slept again -> made some phonecalls -> more sleep -> published this post -> sleeping anytime soon. There you go, my first 'real' monday of 2012. Despite all the sudden diarhea I got today, my first week of 2012 has been terrific really.. hope you don't mind the extra number of photos for today. the sun was behaving well and there were alot of great shots. I tried to narrow it down furthermore, but this was the lowest I could get.

SHERBET LEMON

As you all might notice, I've been using Fashiolista for about a month. If you haven't tried it out, now it's a good time. For busy people like me, I find it quite impossible to keep up with the whole online shopping craze but this is where Fashiolista comes in. 

I simply follow other inspiring bloggers and I can easily keep track of the hottest items around the world wide web. OR . Whenever I stumble something that I love online, I simply click the 'heart' icon on my google chrome, and Fashiolista bookmarks that item easily. Very simple and useful for someone who likes to keep my tabs as little as possible ;) Less tabs = more organized = easier to find things in your computer.

BAREFOOTED

Sometimes I wonder why I rarely buy dresses when they're actually one of the most multi functional attires available out there. Take this bamdeau dress I wore last week. I played around with it and discovered that it makes a wonderful midi-maxiskirt. Me and christy decided to go to the grass areas just around my house to capture these photos. And at some point I felt that going barefoot was the best idea for this relaxed shoot.

FIREWORKS

the other day someone told me that I seem to have a penchant for anything sparkly let it be glitters/sequins/metallics,etc. In response to that, yes I do have a penchant for shiny stuff. I don't have alot of sparkling clothes or accessories just yet but I do have a folder in my computer to document my love of sparkles (anyone know another word for that? been using it in almost every sentence of this post..) I've been meaning to put this photo post up then figured that sequins and other shimmering goods are better off for the new year festives.

Cheers to the first post of 2012 and to an awesome year to every one of you. and for those who are wondering, I didn't do anything for the countdown because I feel that New Years' is pretty much the same except for the fact that fireworks boom and bam for like 4 - 5 hours in the night.. I'll just spare you guys an outfit from my last week of 2011. I'm rewearing this lovely two toned jacket Carline and Ria gave me on my birthday :) thanks cotton ink !
