COME RAIN OR COME SHINE
last week when I shot these photos for Stitch&Co, I got just about every weather available in tropics. Rain poured, sun shined, blue skies, gray skies, and not to mention the wild wind which gave me headache the next day. Nevertheless, bearing the climate changes was all worth it. I came home with these photos and I'm sharing my favorites for today.

MARCH SHOWERS
I can't believe March went away just like that. It's already the 28th today ! Last week was also probably the last day I could afford wearing leather pants in Jakarta this year. That day, it was oddly cold (as in cold for Jakarta weather). The sun was never out and it even drizzled when Christy and I shot these photos.

B for BASEBALL
I think I really am sucked into the sports luxe trend. Adidas 3 stripe pants last week and a baseball jacket for today. You can't really see it in the pictures but the sleeves of the jacket are made of leather. Even better because the jacket is from H&M and it costed me only like $35 or something like that. This was what I wore for the Balenciaga presentation last week (coverage review here). I intended on wearing this clutch but I forgot left my Style Scrapbook x Kipling camera bag at the office so I switched back to my large Biaritz tote.

BAG REVEALED
In another click and a couple for scrolls, the content of this bag will be revealed specially to my readers. I don't usually like people rummaging through my sack; one because it's always messy (stray smelly cash and receipts), two because I don't like it when they have reached my notebook/agenda. But due to the amount of emails & questions I get, I guess it's better to dedicated today's post to it. a big bag is essential for me. the clutches that I post on the blog? well, they're just my 'lunch time' bag when i don't need to bring my life (..literally) with me..

SPORTY PEPLUMS
The kind people at Sweet Peony sent me this peplum top months ago but I couldn't fit it properly until now. I have a feeling that this will be one of those love/hate looks. Peplums and track pants aren't exactly 'good friends' but I find the juxtaposition quite nice. Sort off like the sports luxe trend I assume? The pants are made out of sheeny satin anyway. I also found a new way to utilize this zara vest that I've been wearing alot lately. Instead of putting my arms through the giant hole, I placed it over my shoulders because the boxy cut works magically for this sort of jacket wear.

SILVER AND SAND
For blog followers, yes my title sounds very much like fashion toast's recent post. But at the same time, those two words also rounds up today's post. As I was waiting for my clients to come for an early photoshoot, I walked around and surveyed the area with my assistant and I came to this sandy section. We decided to take quick outfit photos before the crowd started coming in. I think these shorts are going to be my go-to weekend shorts as it's super comfy (think pyjama material) and it makes a good alternative to my worn out denim shorts. Paired the ethnic motif shorts with a similar herringbone print bag my mom bought me for a little print-mix.

BALENCIAGA UP-CLOSE
Before we go into the show's details, note that I am a forgetful person. very forgetful. This is why I rely on my planner and my digital reminders alot or else others will start yelling at me. Another way for people to make sure that I don't forget is to amaze me. and last year in September, Nicolas Ghesquière did that.
Not only was Balenciaga's Spring/Summer collection jaw dropping (Star Wars inspired hats anyone?), there was one other breaking news that made me remember the show even more; the seat breakdown. I'm not going into details about that. But, despite the fact that guests had to watch the runway in standing mode, the crowd still cheered and applauded for the breath taking show Ghesquière and his team prepped.
On Thursday night, I got the privilege of seeing some of those covetable Balenciaga pieces up close at the private viewing event. I had expected to see more of the key runway pieces but the small scaled presentation was still pretty sweet. I can't get that two-toned leather jacket of my head now...

GETTING PERSONAL
It’s funny how trends recycle every now and then. Ten years ago, I remembered that I picked up a DIY book on making friendship bracelets. The idea of friendship bracelets was totally uncommon in Indonesia FYI. My family and friends thought wearing bracelets made out of cotton string was simply weird. To me however, those bracelets had a personal meaning.
Fast forward today, my best friend told me about Pandora, a jewelry brand from Denmark. What appealed most about Pandora was how personal each and every product is to the owner. Wait… you might be asking how can ready stock jewelry pieces be personal? Well, that lies in every customer’s customization process.

ZEBRA CROSS
I'm quite thankful that I don't have a strict formal dresscode when I go to work. However, there are still certain days when I have to put on the whole 'work ensemble' when I'm meeting with important clients. For most people, that usually means stuffy suits and lots of boring colors. Since I'm too young for that, I like to play with colors & prints to keep the workwear from looking 'bleh'.

BABYDOLL
A tunic dress is always the easiest thing to grab when you're lazy. They are highly practical and simple ones like these make a good base for accessories. I have added my favorite oxford shoes and the Biaritz horsehair bag to spice up this babydoll frock for some weekend outfit. feel somewhat so girly in this...

ANGELINA & MAGNUM
It's been almost a year since the time I went to Paris and all in 2010. I make regular clean ups of my computer hard drive once in a while and I encountered my photos from that vacation the other day. I flicked through it while I refreshed those fabulous memories. From the night I sat on the plane to London to the afternoon I stressed upon GPS breakdown in Milan and even until the day that car transported me to the international airport, every memory was pretty darn fresh in my head. Best trip of my life I can say. I can't help but miss my Jardin Tuilleries hotel room view and Angelina's chocolat chaud every morning... and the fact that my hotel was only a couple steps from Colette & other boutiques at Rue Saint-Honoré...

GUESS INC // COLOR ME INSPIRED CONTEST
Not just a regular outfit post today, but I am EXCITED to announce that I have collaborated with GUESS to be one of the four international blogger style judges - Kayture, Belle de Couture, and Could I Have That- for the "Color Me Inspired" pinterest contest! Read along the post, to find out how you can enter!
I know how much the world liked color blocking that's been hitting a trend for the past season or two. And to celebrate this change of season, GUESS is featuring a ton of fun color coated denim this season - like these Britney Skinny Jeans in New Plum Light I am wearing. It was actually raining when I shot this but all the bright colors kept me in a smiley mood throughout.

FULLY WHITE
28 March 2010 marks the date I got my first dslr camera. From that day, I discovered a relationship with cameras that I never thought I could have. As a blogger, my camera(s) have become a part of my daily life, carting them pretty much wherever my feet takes me. You all know how generic camera bags are ugly (sorry, can't find a better word than that!). My only solution to keep those ugly totes at bay is to stash my DSLR in my giant bag or simply place the strap over my shoulders, in which both methods are prone to bumps and collision.
For two years I've searched stylish alternatives for my DSLR and a couple weeks ago, Kipling Indonesia notified me that Style Scrapbook's Camera Bags are finally coming to Jakarta. I'm glad that my EOS is finally getting a better 'moveable home'..

STRANGE CREATURES
We bloggers are strange creatures. We take photos of our food before they touch our mouth no matter how hungry we are… We pose around public places while passersby give us that ‘what the heck’ look… AND on top of that, we tote our big DSLR cameras everywhere. Sometimes, even I can’t help but call myself a weirdo for doing all these things. Well, except for the last bit.
I have been really lazy when it comes to taking my DSLR ever since I have a compact camera alternative that easily fits into the tiniest clutch I own. It’s not because of the weight or size of the camera, but it’s because I got no stylish bag for it. A woman deserves to look good at all times right? However, today was an exception because I now have Style Scrapbook x Kipling’s camera bag courtesy of Kipling Indonesia.

CORALISTA
If I hadn't had a blog, I wouldn't have noticed that the orange/coral trend has hit on me. In just a week, I've worn three outfits (one not being documented) that utilize orange as it's main color. Today does not involve another color block technique, but instead, I paired the bright hue with neutral picks. Coralista also happens to be one of my favorite blushers from Benefit Cosmetics. It deposits the right amount of pink/peach for an everyday natural flush.
