By the Sea

"we cant choose our family. that's why God gave us best friends" - I read this quote from someone's twitter and I can totally relate to this. There's nothing quite like being with the people I love which includes my besties, my boyfriend, and several family members. I don't agree with those who say that we should always stay with our family because they'll never go away or whatever because they have the same blood. I dont think this is always true. I've heard stories where the father has sex with his daughter.. or some even sell their babies for money ?!? how inhumane are those people ? I think that the best people in the world are the people who love you for what you are.. they love you for YOU ! We have like 6 billion ++ homo species on this Earth, there's gotta be someone who appreciates you even if you think you're the weirdest kid on the block. Sooo go ahead and start searching for the people who you like ! :D
This is also one of the reasons why i love blogging.. it's like like a little community of fashion-lovers where I can make new friends with the same interest. this post is dedicated to two of my best blogger buddies : talisha and stella. I cant imagine where I'm gonna get all those laughs without you two :)

shot this one with a tripod.. and suddenly pesky securities came by and told us no photos allowed (when we all have been posing for around 30mins).. in the end, talisha's driver found out from the security guys that we weren't allowed to take photos because of the TRIPOD. damnit.. a tripod doesnt do any damage to the floor or anything for goodness sake. security guys in indo seriously need more training and they should shrug off their "im an important and smart guy" attitude.. because the truth is they are dodos and they dont have any COMMON SENSE.

thirty milimeters

did some little experiments over on photoshop earlier today. yesterday (friday) wasnt so good. alot of people pissed me off from morning till night today.. gosh, but i dont wanna let that anger take over my weekend. I slept early and I tried waking up with a big bright smile today :) [ i guess that has always been my motto.. never keep any anger with you, just shrug it off.. be thankful of what you have.. talk to some friends.. sleep.. and start with a blank paper the next day]
Anyhow, the weather has been really weird lately.. It's always raining heavily in the afternoon which makes it hard for me to take outdoor pics. so in the next couple of posts, please bear with me if the location of the photos are rather similar :) these ones were taken a month ago as test shots after I just bought my Sigma 30mm f/1.4 lens. I almost completely forgot about them !
Not only are my pictures rather old, but the Louis Vuitton sneakers are pretty ancient too . I wore them to death in high school and I still love em. My mom has told me to get rid of them, but I refused. The fact that they're rather dirty makes them look cooler (well at least to me). They were like my chuck taylors.. the uglier the better :D

those who were asking about the baby photos.. NO they're not twins.. and NO they're not brothers and sisters. they're actually friends (or should I say fried to be since they both don't know how to communicate yet?).. their mothers are best friends so that's how I'm able to take photos of the babies together.. Baby allesia was born on the 9th and Clayton was born on the 8th :)

Olives

one of my simple daily outfits. these are my favorite cargo pants that i keep going back to. they're a size too small, but the stretchy material makes it okay to wear. decided to take out this brown canvas louis vuitton out after ages hiding at the back of the closet. this is one of the 1092301 reasons why I don't like getting rid of the things in my closet. Most of them, they come in handy about 2/3 years after I bought it.
Is it only me, or is the cycle of fashion trends get recycled faster now than it was in the last century ? I mean during the 1920s-1990s .. trends stay for around 10 years each time (well that's what the history books say anyway) for example.. the whole flapper looks was in the 20s and the hippie look in the 70s.. but today, a trend can last as short as 3 months ! or is it because the advancement of textile machinery makes it easier for brands to produce more clothing? i dont know what's the real answer for this.. my post will soon turn into an essay if I try to discuss the whole possibility of this fast-paced-trends topic..

30 Days

i always feel like im owing something when I dont get the chance to post something in my blog so i thought id like to share some of my photoworks outside fashion. photographing kids has been a late pleasure of mine especially when I get the privilege of experimenting on the many newborn babies I'm seeing lately (plus their mothers never reject for a photo..) I shot these about 2 weeks ago at the one month baby bath thingi majigi.

Wisteria "Ninja" Shoes

its hot. all i can think about is loose tops and some shorts topped with nice sunglasses. soo i went with my instinct (like i always do) and whipped up this outfit. the shorts didn't originally have cuffs, but i felt like it was too short so I quickly fold and sewed the cuffs in within 10minutes of my morning.
finally wore my Topshop wisteria wedges out for the first time. i toppled quite alot during the day as it had a curved front. but overally it was really comfortable ! i always loved Topshop shoes for their friendly prices, great style, and decent comfortness. i feel in love with these wedges ever since i first saw them on rumi from fashion toast. after questing them from malls to malls to singapore, i finally found a pair at vivo city singapore last month! the salesgirl told me the new stocks just came in that morning i came to vivo.
anyhow about the blog title, well, my boyfriend told me i looked like im wearing "ninja shoes" in the morning when i came to drop Hugo off. im not sure what he had in mind about "ninja" shoes though. I guess he was reminded of the childhood Japanese cartoon series Ninja Hattori ??

and i finally got myself an external flash for my dslr today ! im currently reading the manual (yep im that boring and patient when it comes to gadgets) in order for me to be able to operate it properly. if any of you know some tips, do drop some in the comments/email me :)
