Mine, Not Yours

It's funny how I manage to track my changes from my blog. It's not style changes I'm talking about, but it's the change in me. One night, I forgot that I am not supposed to take coffee at 11pm and I ordered a nice latte which resulted me one nasty no-sleep night. During that wide awake moment, I decided to take a look at my blog archives. I managed to go circa june 2010 and I realized something : despite how scatterbrained I am, I could connect the posts I wrote with what I was feeling at the time even if I didn't mention the slightest bit about my personal on-goings. I am aware that this is a very random thought.. but now I remember doing some tests when I was in middle school and the examiner told me that I'm a very visual person. Memories kick in with the help of graphics/motions, not words or sounds. I assume that I was able to recall those memories within my blog via the photos perhaps? yes? no? It's interesting how the human brain works (and how it varies through different people). One time in high school I even decided that I wanted to study Psychology, but in the end fashion won my heart. and if you're wondering why I'm writing all of this : I have no idea. This thought just sort of travelled through my mind as I questioned myself "why did not I have the guts to wear red jeans 3-4 years ago?" and the answer was because I dressed to impress others. and now, the older I get, the less I care about what others think. I wear what I want, I do what I wish. It's my life, not yours and no one else's.

so the next time you have some decision-making to do, always take yourself into consideration. ask what is it that you want? there's no harm in taking others' viewpoint, but in the end, it's your call ! :) have a fabulous september ahead !

tried a little bit of print mixing in this look (notice the patterns on the shoes along with the striped top?) I'm not the type that could clash prints effortlessly, but maybe that might change in time.. just like how I changed with my red-pants issue..

I bought this clutch from a shop in Seminyak 2 years ago. and if you're wondering why sometimes my shoes look as if they're too big.. It's not because I borrowed it from someone else, but it's because I have a wide feet. my length is a size 37, but my width is a 38. this is a real pain in a butt when it comes to pointed shoes..

You look great in those pants.

I can really relate to what you're saying here, about being insecure and dressing to impress others. It sucks, doesn't it?

Your writing is so inspiring. Yea I feel it that way. Back then I'm afraid to do an experiment in fashion. Because I don't want people to make a bad comment to what I wear. I want to impress people with what I wear. But things certainly is different now =)
I like this line " I wear what I want, I do what I wish. It's my life, not yours and no one else's. "

Great and inspiring quote =D
Just share that line on my tweet *i hope you don't mind =)*

Anyway great outfit! I like your sun glasses and your shoes ♥

this post is very related to my current situation. it's very hard for me to be careless about other people's opinions - though i'm still trying to stand up for myself and raise my own opinions and starts to make my own decisions. most of the times (as if always) i asked my mom's opinion especially about looks. oh i'm in a big trouble.

I'm so in love with this post. And yes, I agree that the more we grow up the more we should care less about what people said. It's not that we don't take their opinions but life is full of choices. You can listen to them but not always take what others' said. Have a great September ahead, Michelle. I know it's kind of late to wish because its been more than a week.
