I Failed College because I'm Lacy

What do you do when your contacts rip and you're left with chunky glasses? simple really, put together a pretty geek girl look ! well, its more like simple to say but hard to master. But that was the situation I was having on Wednesday.
Half way through driving to school my eyes itched. I pulled over, and found out my contacts broke. So had to change to my glasses (which I've never done in the past 5 years in public) and actually work those glasses as part of the look instead of making the specs as an alien.
Verdict ? add cute but elegant accessories like the bow hairpin and pearl necklace (winded into bracelet) and tackle those quizzes ala Blair Waldorf + Ribbony Boo.

shall we start flippin through the textbooks ?
1-diffuse glow
Warehouse Boyfriend Blazer, Zara dusty pink lace skirt, Marks & Spencer black lace slip, Marks & Spencer thigh high socks, Forever21 pearl necklace winded into bracelet, Bow hairpin from Valencia, Statement Necklace : gift from boyfriend's sister from Aussie, Topshop ankle strap shoes.
1-half color1
different editted versions..
2
4
i look like I'm going to pee in that blue birdie bowl..

6
3-half color5
teen vogue handbook IS a proper textbook right ?
7

while the photos were taken in the other room .. i digged through the closet in there (which contains the whole family's party-special occasion & memorable clothes..) and i found my Zara pea coat I wore to China in 2007 ! So i decided to change up and try the look with the pea coat. what do you think ? which look do you like better?
9
i feel more japanese-esque with the pea coat. while the blazer made me feel more parisian chic.

i hope you've enjoyed these series of photos ! I tried this dreamy effect on photoshop to reflect the dreamy feel of the skirt by the way :D
there's just endless possibilities of editting photos on photoshop ! i originally had 5 editting ideas for this photo set ! but i decided on this one anyway.. I think i'll probably do a photoshop tutorial when I have time since alot of people have been asking.. Can anyone recommend me a free software that can record the movements on my computer screen ?

Damn. I wish I could dress like you! (And I vote for the first jacket ^.^)

As for photoshop tuts, most of the ones I use use screen shots not movies. Those are good because if you get confused you can just scroll back up and re-read it as slow as you need to. I hope that helps!

You look so cute in your glasses! I love the lace skirt, the high socks, and the shoes. They all go perfectly together. I like the first coat better than the second with that outfit. xo

Hi Michelle,

I just love this style of yours. It's rare for me to see you in girlie looks, because usually seems like you're in an edgy-rockin' way style.
You're so pretty in this kind of style.

These pictures are really cute. I like the glasses and I don't think you need to create a look around them, but rather just own them on their own. I have contacts, but I find them annoying and usually wear my glasses just out of comfort.

I like the blazer with this outfit a lot more. The plaid pea coat reminds me of a men's flannel and gives the whole look a "walk of shame" feel to me. Don't get me wrong- I mean that in a good way.

Your outfits are gorgeous, but this one especially is very lovely. I'm in LOVE with those romantic lacey skirts, and I actually prefer it with the more sturdy, clean-cut look of the blazer (but that's just my say).

Haha, I think you're rocking the feminine-chic schoolgirl very well! Though I have to work glasses into my wardrobe every day and I don't think I have too much of a problem ;)
